(Columbia, SC) - South Carolina lawmakers are hearing from the public as they consider a new state abortion law.
A House ad hoc committee met for the first time Thursday, hearing hours of public testimony from people on both sides of the issue.
The 12-member panel will write the placeholder bill that was introduced on the last day of the legislative session.
So far, there are no specifics on that legislation, and it is unclear if more public testimony will be taken by the committee.
