Judge Keeps State's Abortion Law In Effect

(Columbia, SC) -- A South Carolina judge is allowing South Carolina's new abortion law to stay in effect.

On Tuesday, a Circuit Court judge denied a preliminary injunction request from Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, the Greenville Women's Clinic, and two physicians. 

The lawsuit can still be appealed to the South Carolina Supreme Court. 

South Carolina's fetal heartbeat bill bans abortions after six weeks. it went into effect after Roe v. Wade was overturned last month.
