Judge Rules South Carolina Labor Party Candidates Will Not Be On Ballot

(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina Labor Party candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, and a U.S. House seat will not be on the November ballot.

A municipal court judge made the decision in favor of the South Carolina Democratic Party on Thursday.

Court documents say a verified petition was seeking the removal of the candidates because they failed to hold a nominating convention by the deadline.

The Labor Party's nominee for governor, Gary Votour, says he plans to appeal the decision.
