USGS Issues Earthquake Advisory For The Midlands

(Elgin, SC) -- The United States Geological Survey is issuing an earthquake advisory for the Midlands.

This comes as an earthquake swarm has been happening in the Elgin area since late December.

The largest so far happened on June 29th, when a magnitude 3.6 quake occurred.

USGS says the rate of earthquakes goes up during a swarm, and that the chance of a larger earthquake happening increases accordingly.
