(Columbia, SC)-- A day after the South Carolina Senate rejected a House abortion bill, a lawsuit filed against South Carolina's Fetal Heartbeat bill will be heard by the state's supreme court .
Planned Parenthood South Atlantic and multiple other organizations sued the state over the ban that prohibits abortions as early as six weeks into pregnancies.
The groups argue the ban violates state constitutional rights to privacy and equal protection.
Defendants named in the lawsuit include Attorney General Alan Wilson and DHEC Director Edward Simmer. Arguments are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and will be streamed on S-C-E-T-V-dot-org.
