2.5 Magnitude Earthquake Felt In Richland County

(Richland County, SC)-- The USGS confirms a 2.5 magnitude earthquake hit the Midlands last night. 

The tremor was reported in Elgin a little after 9:30 p.m. 

The USGS said the quake could be felt from Lexington to Sumter. 

It marked the 81st earthquake felt in South Carolina since last Christmas.
