(Columbia, SC) -- Health officials are announcing the first pediatric flu-related death of the season in South Carolina.
DHEC says the flu season begins October 1st. So far, they report widespread flu activity, which could indicate a severe flu season ahead.
DHEC recommends a flu shot to everyone six months and older who is eligible for the vaccine.
