Former South Carolina Governor To Step Down From U.N. Role

(Undated) -- A former South Carolina governor is stepping down from his role as executive director of the United Nations World Food Program. 

David Beasley served as governor of the Palmetto state from 1995 to 1999. 

He was appointed to his U.N. post in 2017 by former president Trump. 

He plans to leave his role in April of 2023.
