State Senator Apologizes After Receiving Public Intoxication Ticket

(Beaufort, SC) - A state senator from Beaufort is apologizing to constituents after receiving a ticket for public intoxication. 

Senator Tom Davis left a party after consuming alcohol, but realized he shouldn't drive and pulled into a parking lot.  

After sitting in the vehicle for more than an hour, he was ticketed by a Lexington Police officer, but was not charged with DUI. 

Senator Davis issued a statement saying he is ashamed and embarrassed by what happened.
