(Kershaw County, SC)- A teen is dead after a police pursuit in Kershaw County.
A deputy was approaching cars at a Dollar General store around 1 a.m. Sunday when one of the vehicles took off at a fast speed.
The deputy almost caught up with the driver when the car crashed and hit a tree.
Seventeen-year-old Laila Rose Houser, a senior at Camden High School, was the only person in the car and did not survive.
An investigation is underway.
