(Walterboro, SC) --The judge in the Alex Murdaugh double murder trial says he will allow the jury to hear evidence of Murdaugh's alleged botched assisted suicide for hire attempt.
The now-disbarred lawyer is accused of killing his wife and son on their South Carolina estate in June of 2021.
On Wednesday morning, Judge Clifton Newman ruled against allowing evidence about the suicide attempt, and called it "a bridge too far."
Before court adjourned, however, he reversed his decision and said he would allow it because the defense had linked it to the Murdaughs' deaths.
The trial resumes this morning.
