(Sumter, SC) - The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a child brought a kitchen knife to school.
The seven-year-old kindergarten student was found with the weapon at Cherryvale Elementary after allegedly threatening classmates and the teacher.
Police say the student was inspired by the horror movie "Chucky" and said he intended to stab his classmates.
The 12-inch knife he brought to school had a 7-inch blade.
