National Weather Service Confirms Tornado In Laurens County

(Laurens County, SC)- The National Weather Service is confirming a tornado that hit South Carolina.

It started Friday just before 7:15 p.m. in northern Laurens County and southern Spartanburg County. 

The tornado was an EF1, with winds reaching around 100 miles per hour. 

The tornado downed many trees in its path, causing major damage in some areas.
