(Hampton County, SC)-- The death of a South Carolina teenager in 2015 is now considered a homicide.
The body of Stephen Smith was discovered in the middle of a road 15-miles from the home of Alex Murdaugh eight-years ago.
The coroner initially ruled at the time that Smith died in a hit-and-run, but investigators began looking at the case again after Paul and Maggie Murdaugh were killed just under two-years ago.
The Bland Richter Law Firm revealed yesterday that SLED is looking into Smith's death as a homicide as the state moves closer to exhuming his body.
