(Greenville, SC)- The board of trustees chairman at Bob Jones University is resigning.
The announcement from Dr. John Lewis comes a week after Steve Pettit stepped down as president of the university.
Last month, Pettit had written to the board of trustees, saying he could not continue to work in a relationship with Dr. Lewis, and that Pettit would be resigning if Dr. Lewis did not step down from his position.
Lewis's resignation is effective immediately, and Pettit's last day of work for the school is May 5th.
