Trooper Recovering After Being Shot In The Face During Traffic Stop

(Bamberg County, SC)- A trooper is injured after being shot in Bamberg County. 

The South Carolina Department of Public Safety says the trooper pulled someone over for speeding around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. 

During that traffic stop, officials say the driver began shooting at Highway Patrol Lance Corporal Frazier, hitting him on the side of his face.

 The suspect led other law enforcement officers on a chase, which ended with a crash into a house in Orangeburg County. 

Frazier's injuries are reportedly non-life-threatening.
