(Bamberg County, SC) -- A man is facing charges after allegedly shooting a state trooper in the face in Bamberg County.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Corporal Frazier had pulled over 37-year-old Derrick Gathers for speeding on Sunday.
SLED says Gathers fired at Frazier, causing him injury. He is currently in stable condition at the hospital.
Gathers is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and failure to stop for blue lights.
