State Lawmakers Consider Bill To Make Period Products Tax-Exempt

(Columbia, SC) --South Carolina lawmakers are considering making period products tax-exempt.

A bipartisan bill passed the House this month that would get rid of the state and local sales taxes when South Carolina residents buy tampons, pads, and menstrual cups.

The measure is now under consideration in the state Senate.

Period products have already been made tax exempt in over a dozen other states.
