(Columbia, SC)-- A six-week abortion ban is heading to the South Carolina House floor for debate.
This comes after the bill passed out of a subcommittee and the full House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.
The measure is a six-week abortion ban similar to the Fetal Heartbeat Law passed in 2021 and struck down by the South Carolina Supreme Court in January.
Republican lawmakers are hoping to pass the bill before the legislative session ends at the end of this week.
