Supreme Court To Hear Racially Gerrymandered Congressional District Case

(Columbia, SC) -- The U.S. Supreme Court will hear a case to determine if a congressional district in South Carolina was racially gerrymandered.

South Carolina Republicans are asking the court to restore the district- which covers Charleston County- after a district court ruling in January.

But the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund says Republicans redrew the boundaries to move Black voters to another district.

The case will be heard by the nation's highest court in their next term.
