Two South Carolina Parents' Groups Added To SPLC's Hate Group List

(Columbia, SC) -- A pair of parents groups in South Carolina are now on the Southern Poverty Law Center's list of hate groups.

The SPLC yesterday added Moms for Liberty and South Carolina Parents Involved in Education to the same list as white nationalist groups like the Wolves of Vinland.

The parents groups made the list because of their opposition to trans students playing on girls' sports teams in the state, or for their push to elect different school boards.

Moms for Liberty said 'name-calling' parents, who want to be a part of their child's education as hate groups or bigoted just further exposes what their 'battle is all about.'

South Carolina Parents Involved in Education said the SPLC's list shows how successful they are in changing parents' minds.
