Columbia Officials Stand Up For Fire Chief After Allegations

(Columbia, SC) -- Columbia leaders are firing back at claims made against the fire chief.

The Professional Fire Fighters Association of South Carolina accused Columbia-Richland Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins yesterday of staffing failures, delayed response times and safety violations.

It comes a month after a firefighter died while battling a blaze on the job.

The police chief, city manager and sheriff all claimed the association was spreading misinformation.
