New Fireworks Ordinance Goes Into Effect In Richland County July 1

(Richland County, SC)- A new fireworks rule goes into effect in Richland County at the end of the week. 

A new ordinance restricts when lighting fireworks is permitted in unincorporated areas of Richland County. 

Starting July 1st, it will be illegal to light fireworks in those areas between the hours of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., but allowed until 1 a.m. on July 5th and January 1st. 

Violators could be fined up to 500-dollars for the first offense.
