South Carolina Could Be Impacted By Tropical Storm Expected To Form

(Myrtle Beach, SC)- Parts of South Carolina could see rain and gusty winds this weekend.  

The National Weather Service expects Tropical Storm Ophelia will form late today. 

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources predicts the Grand Strand portion of the Pee Dee region could see strong wind gusts and rain today and tomorrow. 

The entire South Carolina coastline is expected to see high surf and an elevated risk of rip currents.

A small craft advisory is in place for offshore waters as dangerous boating conditions could occur.
