Man Pleading Guilty To Deadly Shooting Of Law Enforcement Officers

(Aiken County, SC)-- A man is pleading guilty in connection to an incident that killed two South Carolina law enforcement officers and injured five others. 

Frederick Hopkins is admitting to shooting three Florence County Sheriff's deputies and four Florence Police officers in October of 2018. 

Sergeant Terrence Carraway of the Florence Police Department and Investigator Farrah Turner of the Florence County Sheriff's Office died as a result of the shooting. 

On Thursday, Hopkins entered a guilty plea in court in Aiken County, but asked to be sentenced to life in prison instead of the death penalty. Sentencing will happen next week in Florence County.
