USC System Workers Want Higher Wages

(Columbia, SC) -- Workers in the University of South Carolina system are calling for higher wages.

The United Campus Workers union organized a rally to be held today on the USC campus.

The union represents university faculty and full-time and part-time staff, as well as student workers.

In a petition filed by the union in August, demands included a minimum wage of 20-dollars-an-hour for all hourly workers, a minimum of 40-thousand-dollars-a-year for salaried workers, and a minimum annual stipend of 20-thousand-dollars-a-year for graduate workers.
