Former Pine Ridge Police Chief Admits To Extortion Scheme

(Columbia, SC) - The former police chief for the Town of Pine Ridge is admitting to contacting female victims to extort them. 

At a plea hearing, 66-year-old William Bruce Parker pleaded guilty to cyberstalking resulting in serious bodily injury and communicating threats with the intent to extort victims to produce pornography and coerced sex acts. 

The incidents happened in 2021 and 2022. Parker was convicted and sentencing is set for January 31st, when Parker faces 20 years in federal prison.
