Hunting Incident That Killed 6-Year-Old Ruled Accidental By SCDNR

(Orangeburg County, SC)-- A hunting incident that claimed the life of a child is being ruled accidental. 

That's the determination made by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. 

Six-year-old Avery Davis was killed in the incident in Orangeburg County on Friday. 

Officials say he was in an elevated stand when he appears to have been struck by a stray shotgun pellet from a shooter on the ground.
