(Columbia, SC)-- South Carolina lawmakers are approving a 13-point-2 billion-dollar budget for the state.
The spending plan was advanced after days of debate in the state House.
The budget includes 600-million dollars to increase teacher pay, 200-million dollars for SCDOT for bridges to be repaired, and half a billion dollars or property tax relief for homeowners.
The budget is expected to go into effect July 1st, but it first needs approval in the state Senate.
