State Prepares For Solar Eclipse

(Columbia, SC) -- The state continues to prepare for next week's solar eclipse.

The Palmetto State will not be in the path of totality like it was in 2017, but sky watchers will still have a show to look forward to.

The Upstate will see 85-percent of the sun blocked out just after 3 p.m. on April 8th.

Those wanting to view the eclipse can do so using proper glasses, but officials have warned to look out for fake glasses and to not uses glasses from the 2017 eclipse.

Some school districts have also adjusted their schedules for the day, with some either switching to e-learning days or dismissing students early.
