Lawmakers Must Pass This Session's Bills By Thursday

(Columbia, SC) - State lawmakers are up against a deadline to pass any more legislation.

The General Assembly needs to pass bills by Thursday for them to possibly become law.

That's because lawmakers are required by law to finish legislative session work by 5 p.m. on the second Thursday in May.

This means the future is unclear for measures pertaining to hate crimes, judicial reform, and medical marijuana which remain unpassed in the legislature.
