A memorial service is being held this week for a K9 who was killed in the line of duty.
The K9, Coba, was part of a Newberry County Sheriff's Office effort to serve a felony warrant last Tuesday. Coba was shot by the suspect and taken to an emergency vet, where he died later that day.
A ceremony in Coba's honor will happen at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in Columbia on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Governor McMaster is expected to attend.
