Graham, Blumenthal Push To Designate Russia State Sponsor Of Terrorism

There's a bipartisan push in Congress to designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism.

Senators Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina are calling for a vote to do so on the Senate floor. Lawmakers cited Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent summit in North Korea with Kim Jong Un, where he entered into a mutual defense agreement with the country, and the ongoing war against Ukraine.

There are four countries currently labeled as state sponsors of terrorism by the U.S., which include Cuba, North Korea, Iran, and Syria. The designation comes with a series of sanctions.
