South Carolina Sets Date For First Execution In Years

South Carolina is scheduling the state's first execution in over a decade.

September 20th is announced as the day Freddie Eugene Owens will be put to death for killing a Greenville store clerk in 1997. Once the director of prisons confirms executions by lethal infection, firing squad, and electrocution are available, Owens will have time to decide which method will kill him.

If he doesn't choose, the execution will be done by electric chair.
