Man Sentenced For Killing Transgender Woman From Allendale County
(Columbia, SC) -- A man is sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted in the first federal hate crime trial for a gender identity-based murder.
Twenty-four-year-old Dime Doe- a transgender woman from Allendale County- was shot to death in 2019. Daqua Ritter was found guilty of the shooting death in February.
On Thursday, Ritter was sentenced in federal court.
