A former captain for the South Carolina Department of Corrections could face up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in a bribery scheme.
Christine Mary Livingston was captain at the Broad River Correctional Institute when she allegedly accepted bribes totaling nearly 300-thousand-dollars, according to an investigation. Authorities say she accepted bribes from more than 40 prisoners between July 2018 and November 2021. The official charge against Livingston is honest services wire fraud conspiracy.
Sentencing is set for June 30th.
