(Columbia, SC) -- Republican lawmakers are looking to build an initiative in South Carolina similar to the newly-formed Department of Government Efficiency headed under Elon Musk.
Bills have been drafted in the House and Senate to create a board to dig into potential waste and fraud in the state.
The board would be made up of nine people chosen by the governor,
Senate president and Speaker of the House.
Some Democrats are calling it a political stunt.
