South Carolina Lawmakers Consider Sports Betting Bill

(Columbia, SC) - State lawmakers are considering proposed legislation to allow sports betting in South Carolina.

The bill would create a state commission to oversee online sports wagering- which would be permitted through eight licensed entities.

Those supporting the measure say it would create over 13-million dollars in tax revenue for the state.

Even if the bill moves forward at the South Carolina State House, Governor McMaster has expressed opposition to it.
