Columbia, SC) - A compromise on a school voucher bill for South Carolina is heading to the governor's desk. The South Carolina House of Representatives voted to approve the version of the measure which passed the state Senate earlier in the week. If signed into law, it would reinstate the K-12 Education Scholarship Trust Fund program- providing taxpayer money to families who want to send their children to private school. Though Governor McMaster has supported the voucher plan being reinstated, it's unknown when he plans to sign the bill- making it law.
