Washington, DC) -- Congresswoman Nancy Mace is filing a resolution to expel Congresswoman LaMonica McIver. It comes as Congresswoman McIver is being accused of assaulting, impeding and interfering with law enforcement after touring a migrant detention facility in New Jersey on May 9th to conduct legal oversight. However, McIver has said she did nothing wrong and democrats have defended her while accusing the Trump administration of a political prosecution. Mace said the House has set a precedent for expelling Members charged, but not yet convicted, of serious criminal offenses and she added, "the public deserves to know that criminal conduct in the halls of Congress has consequences."
