Columbia City Council Delays Decision On Conversion Therapy Ban Repeal

(Columbia, SC) - The Columbia City Council is delaying a decision on the repeal of the city's conversion therapy ban for the second time this week. The state attorney general asked the city to repeal the ordinance, which was passed by the Council in 2021. The Mayor of Columbia says not repealing the measure could cost the city 3.7-million dollars in state funding. On Tuesday, the Council voted unanimously to defer their decision.
