Two individuals were hospitalized following a shooting incident in Sumter County, South Carolina, on Monday night (June 9). Deputies responded to reports of gunfire on Wessex Drive around 9 p.m. and discovered a victim with injuries. According to witnesses, Chancy Green, 43, allegedly fired shots and assaulted the victim with a firearm.
After gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, the Sumter County Sheriff's Office arrested Green. He has been charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Before being taken to the Sumter County Detention Center, Green was treated for his injuries at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. He is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
