(Columbia, SC) -- The City of Columbia is repealing their ban on conversion therapy. The Columbia City Council held a special meeting Tuesday, voting 4 to 3 in favor of striking down the 2021 ordinance that bans conversion therapy. The decision to repeal comes after South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson threatened legal action and a lack of funding if the city kept the ordinance on the books. The Council deferred the decision twice before voting.
