South Carolina officials are reacting to a Supreme Court ruling allowing states to cut off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood.
The ruling from the highest court in the land came Thursday as the result of a challenge to a 2018 executive order from Governor McMaster directing health officials to remove abortion clinics from South Carolina's Medicaid provider list. On Thursday, Governor McMaster said the Supreme Court ruling affirmed his executive order aiming to quote "protect the sanctity of life and defend South Carolina's authority and values". South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson say "we're glad the Court got it right."
