Myrtle Beach Preparing For Rip Currents, High Waves From Hurricane Erin

(Myrtle Beach, SC) - Hurricane Erin is still on track to bring dangerous rip currents and high waves to the South Carolina coast. A high surf advisory is in effect until Thursday at 8 p.m. Though there's a low chance for Tropical Storm force winds in Horry County, Myrtle Beach Fire Department's Ocean Rescue is still preparing. They warn beachgoers that the rip current will appear calm, despite not being safe to swim in.
