(Jasper Co., SC) -- Hurricane Irma is being blamed for a fifth death in South Carolina.
The South Carolina Public Safety Department announced yesterday that an 87-year-old man from Hilton Head Island died in a hospital, days after the storm.
Authorities said he suffered serious injuries in a traffic crash that happened during the storm in Jasper County. A tree fell on top of his car on September 11th while he was driving on U.S. Highway 278.
