Parachutists Get Rare View Of Total Eclipse

A group of parachutists can reminisce about the eclipse, like no others can, having witnessed the event from above the ground - at about 12,000 feet.

Most observers were content to view the phenomenon from the ground, but the Special Forces parachute team took a much different angle, deploying from a helicopter at the height of yesterday’s eclipse over Orangeburg County.

They say it was quite exciting, looking down as the moon's shadow covered the earth's surface. The four successfully jumped from their helicopter and all landed safely, without incident.
