(Columbia, SC)-- Attorneys for convicted killer and disbarred former lawyer Alex Murdaugh are filing a motion for a new trial.
Murdaugh was convicted in March of killing his wife Maggie and son Paul.
Now, his defense team is planning on holding a news conference later this afternoon to discuss their newly-filed motion for a new trial.
The attorneys say their request is based on what they're describing as "discovered evidence."
The conference is scheduled for 2:30 on the South Carolina State House grounds.
