South Carolina Senate Passes Permitless Carry Bill

(Columbia, SC)-- The South Carolina Senate is advancing a permitless carry bill.

After two weeks of debate, the proposed measure passed the Senate in a 28 to 15 vote.

South Carolina residents are already able to openly carry handguns, but have to do training for a concealed weapons permit first.

This bill would get rid of those requirements.

The proposed legislation now heads to the House of Representatives, where it received overwhelming support during last year's legislative session.
