(Columbia, SC)-- The Richland One School District is approving a separation agreement with a long-serving superintendent.
The board recently voted to extend Craig Witherspoon's contract until December of 2026. But on Tuesday, they approved a mutual agreement to separate with the superintendent in June of 2025.
Witherspoon has been superintendent since 2015. This decision comes as Richland One faces scrutiny from state agencies over the alleged mismanagement of the Vince Ford Early Learning Center.
